Pampered Chef Pressure Cooker

One thing I hear a lot is “I want to down-size my kitchen.” Whether that’s for empty nesters, or even busy families that have accumulated too many items and are a bit overwhelmed, I totally get it.

It can be overwhelming to have so many kitchen tools that you don’t use often. However, perhaps a tool can be more than just a pressure cooker. Let me share the differences between the Pampered Chef Multi-Cooker and the Quick Cooker for you.

Can you cook rice in a Pampered Chef pressure cooker?

Yes, you can! Just use the rice setting in both the multi-cooker and the quick cooker. Be sure you follow the directions in the manual. (Looking for the manual/cookbook? Head to my Freebies section to grab a downloadable copy).

Can you cook noodles in a Pampered Chef pressure cooker?

Yes, you can for sure. I set the pasta to cook for a 5 minute custom cooking time. Be sure to weigh your pasta in ounces. Whatever the ounces are, multiply by 2, to get the right amount of liquid to add to the pot. There will be no need to strain if you use this calculation method.

Does the Pampered Chef pressure cooker make yogurt?

Yes, the new Deluxe Multi-Cooker has a yogurt setting that makes yogurt-making super easy.

How many eggs can you hard cook in a Pampered Chef pressure cooker?

You can do up to 24 eggs at a time if you are using the Steamer Baskets. If you are not using those, I would suggest no more than 12 at a time.

How do you cook hard boiled eggs in the pressure cooker?

In the Multi-Cooker, there is an “Egg” setting. Use that when making any eggs and they will turn out just right.

In the Quick Cooker, use the 5-5-5 method, meaning set to a custom cooking time of 5 minutes, leave the eggs in the pot for 5 minutes after finished cooking, and then remove from pot and cool for 5 minutes in an ice bath.

How do you cook chicken in the pressure cooker?

In both the Deluxe Multi-Cooker and the Quick Cooker, there is a “Chicken” setting. Just add your chicken and other ingredients to the pot and set to that function.

How do you proof bread in the pressure cooker?

To proof bread in the Quick Cooker, use the “Proof” setting. To proof bread in the Multi-Cooker, use the “Yogurt” setting. Adjust time as needed.

How do you cook beans in the pressure cooker?

Be sure you have the right ratio of water to dry beans based on the bean. Follow the instructions as listed in the cookbook that comes with the pressure cooker. (For a downloadable free copy, head to my “Freebies” page). Use the “Beans” setting to cook.

Do you cover meat with liquid in the pressure cooker?

It is important to have adequate liquid in the pressure cooker anytime you are cooking anything. You do not need to cover meat with liquid, but you will need at least 1/2 cup to 1 cup of liquid. (Broth, water, salsa are examples).
